If there is no plate, then it is probably just a car that had body panels added, but a just a few did not have the plate because they were probably Schuller era.

Reason: Pulled out my notes and revised.
First gen "IMSA/GT" body panels and spoiler with a second gen "Turbo" style side vent bolted in. What looks like a stock hood with turbo style slots cut in it. A 78 should be all Turbo look with the high wing and turbo inlet hood.
There appears to be a plaque on the ashtray door...
That Greenwood plate on the dash should tell you what model it is and the production number..it looks very similar to the ACI/Greenwood car on the makoshark2 site.
I love the look of the tan/brown car. Is that an original Greenwood? I've always liked the looks of the Turbo GT body. Can those body panels still be purchased?
I would like to see a picture of the underside of the center caps on the turbine wheels, a close picture of the dash for the turbo lights on the sides of the speedo and tac, and the turbo in the engine if there is one. looks to be another Greenwood GT re-labeled as an American GT as stated in the 1979 ACI catalog when Greenwood stopped doing business with ACI and ACI tried to cover up the Greenwood name in order not to be suied
