Default break in rings....problem(?)

Just re-ringed my 406. it started right up and I drove it around town (approx 15 miles) and varied the load, a couple hills, etc. I didnt get on it at all. The drivers side is burning as clean as can me, but the passenger side is burning oil pretty substantially.
I've parked the car because I'm a little nervous about driving it anymore. I've read varying methods of break-in and I would like to know if anyone has any advice on what I should do now.
The engine has a roller cam and I'm breaking it in with 10/30.
Thanks
Fred

Sounds like an intake leak in the valley.

Roller cam doesn't really require break in as to the rings

Could be an anomaly but normally both banks (sides) will wear in about the same. Normally it will take several hundred miles to get them seated.

this should be in tech side but I would check the cold cylinder pressure on both banks and see if one side is running lower or its just one cylinder.

eliminate any chance of oil leak causing confusion and try and get the rings to seat.

you are running regular oil during this process? correct? no additives except some type of break in additive

Do a compression test and or a leak down test on all cylinders. If I get it right you put new rings in worn cylinders. Worn cylinders won't be round in a worn engine. I suspect the cross-hatch is long gone. Concidering this, I suspect you'll have a rough time getting the rings to properly seated.

What he said. Unless you put all the rings upside down on one side, that's the most likely explanation. Look at the plugs-are they oil fouled? Small blocks are notorious for intake leaks...
