Default wheel center caps

Hi,

Just got 4 wheel center caps for my 76, as shown.

1. How do I mount them? there's nothing on the wheel to hold them...
2. What should I use to clean and polish the wheels?

thanks!

are there not little teeth on them so they somewhat grab the wheel when you push them on? I have to use a little clear silicone whenever i take mine on or off to hold them on there firm or the eventually all pop off down the road

Those are for factory aluminum wheels, do you have aluminum wheels? They should just pop right on

I believe these are aluminum.
for some reason they are just to big to pop in.

They only seem like they're too big. Push them in, they will snap in place. Like pleasants9 said, a little silicon sealer, on the inside, will hold them in place.
As for polishing the wheels, I have done it by sanding with 1500 grit paper and polishing with Mothers aluminum wheel polish.

You are pushing them in from the back with the wheels off the car right?

The after market plastic ones are a real pain to get on. They will go on I promise. They go on from the front and require great pressure. I even used some tapping from a rubber mallet on mine. These, not unlike most things on our cars, take great patience. If you lack patience like I did, your Corvette will teach you in the long run. Either that or you'll lose what small amount you had!
