My brother-in-law installed aircraft landing lights in the high beam locations on his 427, 425 horse, 1966 Vette. I can remember riding with him one evening when he turned them on. I am sure that they would have fried the eyeballs of anyone that might have been directly in front of us. Pretty much a square high intensity beam projecting a quarter mile down the road in front of us.

I know first hand why they are illegal.

I think they are a great upgrade... As for being blinding for other drivers, you shouldnt be driving around with your high beams on around other drivers anyway. So who cares how bright they are?
The hardest part is modifying the terminals to fit in the housing. Just be careful when you bend them in. You should also relay the headlight wiring for the highbeams when you put these bulbs in.

Its difficult to take a picture of how bright they are... I tinted mine yellow, they come clear

Yes. I would imagine they probably use a bunch of amps.

I have ordered a set of the Flood style light. 300,000 CP Not worried about amp load, at all. A couple relays and all will be good. Al

A great modification to make. I did it years ago. They are really bright, installed with virtually no modifications to the car. They turn night into day.
