I have a C3 hard top and need storage ideas.
I don't want to hoist it because my garage doesn't have a drop ceiling and therefore gets hot up high. I live in Texas.
I've seen the couple of store bought options from Willcox, Ecklers and others and wonder if they are that great.
I was thinking of building a better one out of PVC and foam padding.
I don't think I need castors to move it around.
I've got mine hanging in the basement. I used 4 of those orange rubber ladder hanging brackets- lag bolts with a "J" end. And a pair of lightweight el-cheapo ratchet straps. Hook one end of the ratchet strap on the J hook, lift the top, and hook the other end. I wrapped it in a U-Haul blanket just to keep it clean. Up out of the way too.
TimAT,
Thanks for the replies and idea. But what is a basement?! I sure wish we had them in north Texas.
I used to wrap and hang my hard bed cover for my F150 on the side of my garage in a similar manner.
