The rear shade on my 82 seems to be pretty much unglued from the rod it is wrapped around the handle is in great condition and seems to be the only thing holding the shade to the rod anymore. What is the best way to re adhere the shade to the pull rod? IT looks like someone tried to hot glue it at one time.....

I would use some velcro as it probably not be affected by the heat and give a secure holding. My rear shade appears to be fine, but I did have the annoying rattle from where it sits in the clamp when extended. I rolled up a piece of papertowel and put it in there and it stopped the noise. When I get around to it, I will use a small piece of the fuzzy side of the velcro for a permanent fix.....

I dont quite follow how to use the velcro to keep it wrapped around the rod? you suggest using the tape velcro and putting one side down the rod and the other taping to the shade to make it stick to the rod???

Yes, that is exactly how I would do it, I'm sure it's not the correct way to attach the rod to the shade, but I think it would work just fine. It may take longer to position the velcro correctly, but you wouldn't have to mess with the glue to attach.....
anyone else have an idea on an ideal liquid adhesive?
Go on E Bay and buy another one. By the time you play with adhesive and make a mess and realize it dosen´t work you could have spent the time getting a new one and be done with it.
