Broke a rear spring today...

How good are those composite springs? Not NCRS here so not worried about originality...

It sounds like your stock steel leaf spring busted and you're considering a composite monospring. If that's the case, I put a composite rear spring in my '80 while rebuilding the chassis. Installation was easy. I went composite mainly because of the positive comments I read on this forum. My car isn't on the road yet, so hopefully guys with drivers will chime in here.

I have had one on my 76 for at least 10 years now. It has a smoother ride than the original steel spring.

Love the composite spring, it is much lighter and easy to work with. The only problem I had was that they cannot take heat from exhaust...went with side pipes, problem solved.

I have a fiberglass unit in my 72.. which happens to be an NCRS flighted car. I'll take the point deductions for the smooth ride any day!
