There is another thread with pretty much the same question, you will find everyone has their favorite oil they use. I happen to use Amsoil ZRod 10 - 30... Now sit back, relax and get ready for all the other choices

If you ask a thousand different people, you will get a thousand different answers.
Can't go wrong with Mobil 1 10W30.

I live in Texas, and drive my car year round (~ 5k-6k miles per year).

I use Valvoline VR-1 20w-50, and change it every June, and December. It has plenty of ZDDP, and I can buy it at my local parts store.

I just buy my Amsoil on line and two days later (sometimes the next day), it's at my door step

Some people will answer twice with two different choices cause they have short memories.

More than happy to get AMSOIL products for forum members at dealer wholesale pricing, about 25% below retail, via the AMSOIL Preferred Customer Program. Drop me a PM if interested.

There actually is a simple answer. If you change your oil frequently and don't drive like a nut it would be nearly impossible to screw it up with oil selection. In other words, it doesn't make any difference. Isn't that a simple answer?

I knew of a farm truck with a leaky 283 that would run on Wesson oil occasionally...
