I'm looking for a solenoid with a longer positive post stud.
With some changes I'm making in the wiring, the current stud is just barely long enough to get the nut on.
Are there any different solenoids out there, like ones off trucks or ??? that have a longer stud length?
Thanks
M
One thing we do in the marine industry for this is to install an auxilery mount cable for B+ connections. Basically you will then have a main battery lug, and an aux cable lug onto the starter. All other connections would then go to the aux connection. Remember the more cables stacked on top, the more voltage drop you will recieve. Good luck. If I can find a photo of the aux mount i will post. Al
What I've got added is one new wire going up to take care of the fans and lights via a fused terminal block.
Don't want to loose the lower fusible link on the charging line or try running the charging through the fuse block.
The new ends are all double thickness and are therefor using up the stud quickly.
