Default Custom Image Corvette Flares

This has to be the easiest way to add fender flares to a C3. In years past you had to build the flare on the car, lot of sanding, filling, sanding filling until both sides matched and were perfect, all the really had work is deleted with these Custom Image Flares. These are full fenders that can replace the original fender at the bonding seam, or can be cut back to replace only the section you want to cut out, at a location on the fender that is easier to body work away from the contour of the flare.

Here is what showed up at my front door the other day.

2" flared front fenders, you add in the vent from the original fender.

Rear 4" fenders, you can cut these just before the bumper and install on a 74 or newer to retain you original bumper, or opt to go with the Custom Image chrome bumper style rear panels.

Now I need to decide on the style of wheels I want to fit under these Flares, so many choices to chose from.

Hey Riggs - I just got mine delivered Friday. I only got the front - doing something different on the back end.

I wanted flares on the front but wasn't willing to go through all that work! When I saw these on another forum I called Josh immediately!

I cannot imagine how much time and effort that will save us!!

John

That does look like an easier way to get the fender flares. Install new fenders with the flares already formed.

I hate body work, and the less the better. These will be a lot easier then installing just a flare and having to work the flare contour to be pefect, it's already done for you.

These should give me the aggressive look that I'm after plus stuff a huge tire under the fenders for better traction.

Bill, I almost talked myself out of doing it but I don't want to regret not going through with adding the fender flares. Lifes to short to have regrets. Plus, like you, I need more tire for better traction with having the extra HP under the hood.

I have my car at custom image right now. I actually helped pack your flares. . I think you are really going to like them. Blending at the bonding strips is definitely the way to go. . Here are a few random photos in no particular order.

My car is a 76 but we did a custom back end on it and a 73 front. I think josh will have the back end available soon to mate up to your flares if you want to switch the back end up

We are getting ready to go into primer soon.

I was looking at the flares on the Custom Image site and I am a little confused on pricing. Is it $1000 for the fronts and $500 for the rears or does $1000 get both front and rear?

The 2 inch rears mimic the front fenders and are 500
The four inch comes with 1.5 inch fronts as a set. They are a thousand.

Brent - What size are the wheels and tires on your 76? That is the exact look I want for my 78 Vader Vette.

I love these fender flares, but can't bring myself to put them on our '79. I'd like to get another shark and give it a road race treatment...LeMans headlights, Minilites, fneder flares, LS7, etc.

What happened to the long blog on the Custom Image website that showed the construction of a red and black Shark?

My wheels are 18x12 and 18x 9.5 with 335s and 285s. I really like the looks of that much rubber also.

Was the red and black car curbys? He got the car back quite a while ago and had it on power tour. I am pretty sure there are photos on their website. It turned out really well and I like his wheels also.

I just checked the site again and the car I was looking for was MICHELLE. There are pictures on there but there used to be dozens of contraction photos on the site.

BTW- Our '79 is named Miss Vivian (from Pretty Woman).
