Default Thanks C3 gen

Just wanted to say thanks for the inputs on all my wheel questions.

Pulled the trigger and have a bunch of stuff on the way.....still not sure whether the fronts will fit but wth

Here is what's coming:
1) Van steel a) 2" offset trailing arm set
b) shorter spring 420 lb
c) offset sway bar
d) shocks all 4 corners

2) 4 x BMW Replica TT Chrome 18" x 9.5" wheels 25mm offset
3) 295/40/18 rears and 285/35/18 fronts
4) Bolt on spacers 1" rear and 1.75" front

I ordered 1.75" front spacers even though 1" is said to work.
I did this as the wheels have 6.25" backspacing and a 1.75" spacer will convert that to 4.5" backspacing. I just had this feeling that a 1" spacer converting to 5.25" backspacing up front won't fit. I am probably wrong but wth.

Anyway, now I wait for the deliveries to turn up......and then I'll want the custom image corvettes fender flares ...lol

Thanks for the help, you guys are great

I don't want to be negative but if you're not sure on the front wheel backspacing why not take advantage of having the ability to try the 1" adapter in the front? If the backspace is too deep you can always order the 2nd pair adapters at what ever thickness you need.

Good luck with all your new parts. I hope everything fits perfect. Like the others I'll be looking for the pictures.

If you use bigger spacers on the front than on the back, with the same size/offset wheels, you will have a wider track in the front than in the back...and the wheel will sit in a different postion in relation to the fender lip (ie look further out in the front)...not sure how much the narrower tire will hide it, but IMHO that will look kind of strange..its supposed to be the other way round.

And I thought my 275/40 ZR17 tires were wide for the front. Hope it all works out for you.

I already have a set of bolt on spacers for my current 17" wheels. I believe it is 3/4" front and 1" rear. Therefore I added another 1" to try out and also a 1 3/4" if the front measurements did not add up.

The problem is that I don't really believe that a 1" spacer which will leave me with 5 1/4" backspacing will bolt up in the front. It is a little devil on my shoulder talking to me even though another C3 member has it working on his C3. I will certainly try the 1" up front but wanted to have a bigger spacer on hand in case the little devil was correct.

That's why I asked so many questions in C3 gen.....the calculator devil on my shoulder was screwing with my head.
