I like the look of glass t tops. But im told they make the inside really hot. Can anyone tell me if there a difference between the solid t-tops vs glass tops when it comes to how hot it can get in the cab.
I've had both; 74 coupe with fiberglass tops; 80 with the glass. The glass tops are shaded. I am not convinced the tops are at fault. Most of the heat comes through the big back window.

I am extremely interested in glass / fiberglass tops too. Let me know what you decide. I am ATL and they don't call it hotlanta for notin'
I have them on my car. It's not really all that bad. It does get toasty inside but I'm not convinced its coming from the tops (although I'm sure they'll be warmer than fiberglass). I've never ridden in a fiberglass top car but I'd say they are worth the trade offs you have to make (increased heat, a target for break ins, easy to break etc.) You won't notice them as much as you would think while driving but I think they make the car look much cooler from the outside.
I finally had to put my tops on during the Power Tour, three days of rain... I had pulled the liners out a long time ago.... After having them on for awhile I thought about painting the inside sky blue....But then again after 14 years of having the car this was maybe the 10th time they had been on....I do like the idea of the transparent ones...

Same here - '75 with fiberglass, '80 with glass. On a hot day I notice more heat from the engine and exhaust than from the tops. In other words, the heat is more from below than above. So I would say there not much temperature difference just due to glass t-tops. Either way, removing the tops lets more heat out than in!
try throwing a towel over the tops to test the idea...let me know...I have an 80 with glass tops and park in the shade...i noticed the metal doesn't burn me as much when i do...
I have a 79 and I wish my tops were solid, just yesterday I didn't take it to run errands because it was 95 deg, full sun, it all adds up. I would buy a snap-in liner if there was such a thing.
My 82 has glass tops and yes it is hot. Can't compare it to the fiberglass but it only maks since that they would be hotter than the fiberglass. I put the static cling perforated liners in mine and I think that it made a world of difference in mine. It looks nice from the inside and you can't tell they are there from the outside. I highly reccommend them. Best of both worlds.

I have been on the fence about these liners, think I will order anyway...thanks for the push.
