Wipers quit working. Has hideaway wiper assembly. Wiper solenoid? When you press the wiper button the wiper door opens, a small arm activates a button switch on the firewall, then nothing? What am I missing? I've looked at the wiring diagram. No power to the wiper motor? Fuses all good. Thanks chaz069
Hi Chaz, Look under the dash just left of the steering column. There you will find a **** between two push-pull things. The **** is for stopping the wiper blades to change them. The **** probably has the wipers cut off.
Check and make sure there is power going to that button on the firewall. There should be a connector not far from that button, large round rubber style.

Thanks the button under the column was off. The wipers only cycle with the dash wiper switch held down. Once you release the button they go to park and stop. ?????? thanks chaz069
fuse is good. Relay location, somewhere under driver's side dash? anything more specific? Thats all I could find on wiper threads. Could the wiper switch plug on the back of the switch be reversed? Thanks chaz069

Wiper relay is under the shifter plate on top of the tunnel.

These scans are from the 1971 Chassis Service Manual. If you don't have one get one...it's a big help in trouble shooting the various systems on your car.
I hope this helps you.. This is everything I have on the site for the 1969-1972 wiper motors. There are a ton of articles and some that you can read that are pretty intense.
Wiper Motor Bench Test 69-72
Wiper motor follow up video
Willcox Testing a 68-76 Corvette Wiper Motor Switch
69-72 Wiper Arm Vacuum Relay testing.
Headlamp/Windshield Wiper Actuator Relay testing. 68-72 for wipers.. 68-82 for headlamp.
Thanks for all the info. the wiper relay on the tunnel has 2 of the 3 wires cut and disconnected. Car has had some backyard wiring repairs, which is what led to all this work. Time to start reading and figure out the circuits. Thanks again for all input and suggestions. chaz069
Back to the basics. Previous owner repaired the wiring at the switch and reversed the wires. Temp gauge had bad sending unit and a stretched belt with water pump not working properly and a stuck open 160 thermostat. Fuel gauge was a dirty contact connection. There is power in and out of the amp. gauge but the needle does not move, bad gauge. thanks for all the input. I learned more about the car and what not to do. Thanks again chaz069

Chaz069,
I feel your pain...been working on the wiper on my 72 for three days now...everything checks good... must be a broken wire somewhere that I do not know how to diagnose
