Default 81 wiper switch

well had a few hours today so I figured I would tackle my intermittent wiper issue, figured good place to start would be the switch, everything worked before, but the pulse and the wipers seemed to hesitate every few inches after they were on for more than a few minutes, read other posts and thought I had a good grasp of what I had to do. needless to say it didn't go well. couldn't get the speedo and tach bezel all the way out, so I thought no biggie I can still get the switch out, bent the housing for the switch and got it out the front, thought well ok I have gone to far to stop now, got the switch out took it apart cleaned the contacts, put it back in, couldn't get the tabs to close tight, and while getting it back in the dash it seemed to slip a bit, so when I tested it, the wipers came on at high speed shooting out washer fluid, darnit, took out played with it, got it back in and back together, still no pulse, and now I lost the mist feature and the washer fluid only works when I slide the switch to the top. after going back and reading Wilcox's instructions did this happen because I did not have the switch in the off position when I reassembled?? any tips on getting the tabs bent back?? and could I not get the speedo out because I forgot to remove the cable. so much thinking I had a good idea of what I needed to do to get everything out right

I can sell you a known good working wiper system from a 1982. It has intermittent. Have switch, motor and whatever else is related to the system.

If it was me, I would go with new switch. Also there is a diode or resitor in the wiper motor cover. sometimes that is the cause for loosing intermittent wipers.

Just a thought.

checked the diode its still there and not burnt off, not sure how else to test it other than to make sure its still connected, don't understand why they seemed to hesitate after they have been on for a while. My1991 where would it have to be shipped from?? I might go for the switch and the pulse relay and maybe the motor if that's what's doing it, not that's its a huge deal to get it completely working, but if it came with it, I want to get it to work right. anyone have any thoughts as to what might be the real culprit behind the issue???

I am not to sure about the pulse module, not sure where that might have been located, shipping would be from southern california. Probably coust 25.00 to ship everything.
