Pretty easy install, Car is a 81 but would work for any year. Power, ground and ignition. Temp has a sensor that mounts to front grill in bumper (clips on) and temp is very accurate. Garage door programming is homelink. Compuss is built into mirror nothing to mount. Mount for mirror is different than GM mount so you glue there mount to factory mount on windshield with locktite rearview mirror glue. Mirror is a bit bigger than factory but I love not having a garage door opener in car and will operate up to 3 garage doors. I program home garage door and storage garage door.

Thats it

Thanks, great job!! now please, brand, year, model # I want to follow your lead and do the same to my '79. My guess is that this should work on a '75 as well.

Well, my mirror install sucked! The damn mount came off the windshield again. I guess I am going to the window shop today to see what they can do. Road trip leaving in the Morning. 800 miles one way for the long weekend.

I have had good luck in the past mounting mirrors. Did you get the install kit with the spray cleaner/primer ?

I know this is a slightly older thread, but does anyone know if this type of setup is possible on a 72 or similar car? Seems like there isn't any power available to do that on my car near the mirror like some of the newer models have. I could run wires but I'd prefer not to. Thanks

It does not appear that I do, unless it's just burned out or hidden. When I get into my car at night there are current no lights on inside, lol.

That's a courtesy lights issue. Check the fuse. Check the door jamb switches. Check each courtesy lamp bulb.

If you turn the headlight **** up past the stop, do your courtesy lights come on?

I think the main problem is that they're all burned out. I would guess that 50% of the bulbs in the interior are burned out between the interior lights and dash lights. I do have a bulb kit on order so hopefully that will be remedied shortly.

You said 72 so there shouldn't be a t-top light anyway.
I'm guessing they are talking about the later (77?) c3's that had a "dome" light in the t-top center panel

I ran a set of wired up the pillar and over on mine, had to tap into the fuse panel

I know this is an old thread but I have a query on the installation for a 72 / 73. Will the mirror mount to the fixings used in these cars i.e. bracket under the header or does it need to be mounted to the windscreen as per the information given in these posts?

Sorry, mine quoted but I was only responding to the lack of a center light on the pre-77 cars. When I mentioned having to run power up it was for my GPS which was mounted just behind the mirror.
