I had a bad ball joint so I made a video of how to check ball joints:

Excellent, I will try that now. Do you have a video on how to check the tie rods??

Sure. leave the tire on the ground and have someone move the steering wheel left and right enough to feel resistance. Watch for the same movement in the tierod ends.
