If the hood is open at open speed, it will float about 1 1/2 feet above the normal hood line. I don't know if this will decapitate you! The stock windshield glass is pretty thick. There is the urban legion that if you replace the fiberglass hood with composite fiber, the composite fiber hood in an accident will shear everything off, continue into the passenger compartment, and shear your head also. Have no idea if this is true.
