Awake from hibernation.
I had the engine running at idle in the garage when the wife came home. She's not at all impressed with how loud it is. I have a long tube headers and 2.5" exhaust exiting thru magnaflow's. She said it sounded like an angry bear. Perfect!
I bought the car not running but complete. I brought it home and immediately had it dismantled to the bare frame. I've spent untold hours overhauling every single component, powdercoating or painting parts, and bringing it all back to like new condition. The engine is the 350 block it was born with. Nothing else was used. Forged 383 lower, RHS heads, big roller cam and an air gap manifold with an 800 cfm carb. It sounds mean.
I've gone thru the Muncie m20, and installed a 3:55 r&p with new clutch packs in the differential. I have not road tested it yet, it's still a ways away from getting plates. I figure another year until full completion. although I will do a short trip up the block. Just to check things out. I'll post some pics later.
Anyway, a huge milestone has been met.
