Default Converting to serpentine system

I'm thinking about converting my 1976, which has a ZZ4 crate engine, to a serpentine system. I would appreciate any suggestions/comments regarding manufacture, model numbers, potential problems, etc. I assume some people have done this conversion. I've had a problem throwing belts plus I like the looks of the polished components. Again, I would really appreciate any information regarding this issue.

I used a complete setup from an 88 vette to do mine. Pretty much went right in, had to drill the passenger head in the front for the 3'rd bolt hole and I had to make an idler wheel for the air pump. Other that that it was easy. Bead blasted all the parts and painted with rattle can chrome and clear coated.
Truck setups will work, of your going cheap but they don't look as good IMO. Then there are companies like March, way nice and way pricy.

Sixfooter: Thanks for your response. I had not thought of using the system from a newer vette that has a serpentine system. I've looked at the billet and march systems on the Summit web site, but can't figure which ones might work best in my 76 vette(and they do look nice and are pricy). I don't have the knowledge or physical capability so will need someone to do the work.

ZZ4 and GMPP Serpentine kit in my 68. The kit idler pulley which goes under the air conditioner pulley/idler pulley hits the passenger's control arm...just mount the pulley bracket upside down and it works fine. The reverse rotation water pulley means your stock mechanical fan won't work...no worries, get an electric fan set up..DeWitts or BeCool. Also the Serpentine kit comes with a cast iron reverse rotation water pump..ughh. Replaced it with a reverse rotation Edelbrock pump. The Serpentine kit comes with a crank pulleys designed to spin the water pump and alternator at high rpm. I bought underdrive pulley's from March. They're polished billet aluminum so they add a little bling.

I have a big BeCool radiator for my ZZ4. It runs cool.

I went with Concept One serpentine system. Went in real nice-very straight foward. I chose black anodized but they have other options as well. Mine is with AC delete but I can add AC later on if I choose.

U17: Thanks for your reply. Could you supply me with the following information: Where did you puchase your March system;what is the part number;what electric fans did you go with;any problems in installing the system;and any other information you think I might need. Is your vette a C3?

I've spoke with tech staff at Summit Racing, but I'm still confused which system would be best for my 1976. One staff told me that March had 2 systems made specifically for C3s...March 21140 and 45, however their web site does not provide details on these 2 systems. And, I don't know if my vette having a ZZ4 engine will make a difference.

tektrans: Your engine looks fabulous. What is it in? Is it stock other than the bling?
