Default *** Differences between a '68 and '69 - '75 hardtop ***

Hey guys,

Just to confirm - what are the differences between an OE '68 hardtop and an OE '69-'75 hardtop. I believe there is only 2 differences. I know they all interchange. Pics of the differences would be appreciated - can't find any pics in my files. Thanks in advance. BK3

The 68 hard top did not have a locator pin towards the center of the deck. I think that the 68 s didn't have chrome tips on the tail ends either.

My 73 has it. The early 69s may not. That I don't know.

There isn't much differences in the tops between model years. 68 front latches were one year only; the center thumb screw on the rear bow did not come until later; rear glass date codes will be applicable per model year. Late 68 tops may have gotten the chrome tips. Under deck attaching hardware and rear bow studs varied.

When in doubt, use the NCRS Judging Guide.
