Default Edelbrock 1400 question

Hi. I'm installing a Edelbrock 1400 Carb on my 1979 L48 Federal Emmisions vet tomorrow but I have a few questions before I do. I have all of the adapters to fit my egr valve and quadrajet to square hole adapter but my questions is in the emmision hoses.

Where do I plug in the hose coming from the EFE actuator? Do I even still need this since the carb has an electric choke? If I don't need it anymore can I just plug them off?

Will my stock hood close with the 1400 plus the .875 quadrajet to square hole adapter? Will I need to buy a different air cleaner instead to fit it?

Any help or previous experience would be great.

When I had my '78 L82 I installed an Edelbrock Performer intake but kept the Q-jet.

Since hood clearance is tight, you may have trouble with the adapter, but I don't know the height of the 1400 vs. the Q-jet. It's possible there not enough difference to matter. If there is a problem, a low profile, drop base air cleaner may compensate. If you have a serious clearance problem, consider replacing the intake as well with either a Performer or Performer EPS (the EPS is optimized specifically for a square-bore carb and has somewhat better hp and torque numbers).

I eliminated the EGR and EFE actuator and replaced the thermostat housing since the vacuum switch on it wasn't needed anymore. Besides cleaning up the appearance of the engine bay, the car ran better.

The reason I got the Edelbrock 1400 carburetor was because it did have a hook up for the EGR valve. I may be moving back to California soon and they are pretty strict there with emissions so I want to hook everything up. I'm just not sure if the EFE is needed anymore with the electric choke or if the two are related anyway.
