Hello all,

So I purchased this 76 a little over a year ago, I had always planned on going through it completely over the course of a few years, but I really wanted to get some good driving out of it this summer. So my plan since the motor is matching numbers but horribly weak, I had a spare sb from another project that never happened and I was going to just put that in the car so I could get some good date night trips going with the wife...however when I pulled the 350 heres what I found...

Now Im no expert, more of a watch it on you tube then try it for the first time with no help type of handyman/mechanic. but I probably shouldnt take this on the road at all with the front suspension brackets cracked like that eh?

is this fixable?

it looks like its been broke/fixed before at least on the drivers side....potential wreck?

Looks to me like it's been smacked and a sloppy welding job repair was done to it. You might want to take it into a shop and have them check to see if the frame is square. If so they should be able to redo those repairs and it shouldn't be too expensive to fix.

I'd vote for having the welds redone. Bad welds will fracture easily.
