I'm an "Newbie" to the group and need help. I've inherited a 79 L82 4 speed, with A/C. The problem is that there was an engine change and when they did, they changed the pulleys to a car or truck type set up and took off the AC compressor. I've rebuilt the motor and am trying to return the pulley arrangement to stock so I can reinstall the AC compressor and have working air. I now have the short water pump, a cast iron alternator bracket which mounts to the drivers side head, 2 groove water pump pulley #3991423 BW and crank pulley - 3 groove part #458530CA. The problem is they don't align and I think its the crank pulley that's wrong. It looks like I need a pulley that has the inner groove almost flush with the damper. I'm not running the smog pump!
If anyone can steer me in the right direction I'd certainly appreciate it.

Sounds like it.
Actually the crank pulley is a TWO groove pulley with a slightly smaller single groove pulley added for the power steering.
Pics not that clear but.....
Thanks for the reply and pic. It looks like that's what I need, do you have any idea where I can get one.
Thanks,
Bob
When I added AC to my '73, I had to add the 3rd crank pulley and swap the power steering pulley for one from an AC car. I found the pulleys I needed at Paragon: https://www.paragoncorvette.com/
You might get lucky at a GM dealership. I've been surprised sometimes what my local dealership has in stock or is able to get.
