took out my 75 white/ saddle interior for a ride. have not driven car in about 6 years. put in battery, started up, went on toll road and cruised for approxamately 20 minutes. every thing seemed ok until i approached the toll plaza. applied brakes "no brakes" went thru toll, pulled to side and found pedal to the floor and right front wheel cylinder leaking. took it to dealer and was told brake cylinders on all 4 wheels need to be sleeved. someone said corrosion, another said all 75's need to have this done. any thoughts. thanks

Sounds like you are going to be rebuilding some calipers or buying new ones. You probably want to replace the rubber brake hose that goes from the brake line to the calipers as well. Good thing you didn't get in an accident.

All that, a 6-pack and a few hrs on a sat is all you should need. Good time to flush and refill with fresh fluid while your in there.

Yes. The brake calipers on our cars are NOTORIOUS for rusting up and leaking. I'm a bit surprised that your car still has the all iron type. Stainless sleeved calipers are the solution. The ones with the O ring seals are a bit more tolerant of rotor runout.
VB&P and SSBC are two of the various manufacturers of SS sleeved calipers. Many of the Corvette restoration houses distribute them.

it is not anything specific to your 1975. It is more of a problem with the age of the brakes, and not having the brake fluid replaced. If the car sat for 6 years then that is likely the cause of the brake failure and corrosion. It could have happened to any car, not specific to the 1975 year.
