I have a 77 I'm putting back together with the intention of selling it when I'm done. It was a parts car but enough left to get back on the road. I want to paint it Atomic Orange. Would the original paint color make the car more valuable ! I think the Atomic-Orange would make it sell faster the original ? THOUGHTS ?
If your going to sell it the old saying is true"Resale Red".Any orange is a love it or hate it thing, but to note .I plan to paint my 69 orange if all goes well some time in Aug.As for resale red first ,blue 2nd and remember to get the hood stripe.Remember it is not for you,it is for the largest market you can reach.

Your right red does stand out. Really wanted to try the Orange to see how it would turn out

Red got that nikname for a reason. If I was going to flip it thats what I would do too.
Although I am just the opposite. Not a huge fan of the look at me red. Painted my 77 the boring tan, but I love it. Good luck with the sale.

Will it be stock appearing or have some aftermarket wheels/tires and some other things? An all stock in AO may not sell well. Slightly modified/customised may take that colour better.
For resale; red, silver, or white. Avoid black unless the body is perfect.
how is the rest of the car done? if it's fairly close to original then I would go back with the original color, if you've modded it very much then any color is open. "resale" red is a popular choice and appeals to lots of people, but the orange is a color you don't see often and even less on a C-3, I guess it really comes down to what color the people in your area like the most. for the record, I'm painting my body off resto-mod with Eastwoods "malibu sunset" which is a slight variant of the atomic orange, but I plan on keeping it forever.
If it it has a red interior Silver will sell it quicker than red, but given that you were thinking about orange that must not be the case so I am assuming black interior? What is the exterior color on the build plate?
