Where can I get the Grand Sport hash stripes for my C3? I see they are made for C4 and up, but no C3. I have also seen some C3s with them, so where did you all get them?
^^^ Vinyl is the way to go. Picked up a matte silver and metallic red each 1 sq ft sheets from 3m for about 20$ total. Used a paper stencil on my car and folded it around the curves to get the shape and basically just cut them out. Mine are kinda like the ron fellow grand sport stripes b/c they have the outline and are 4" and 5" in width respectably. I wish they were a bit closer together though. Doing the silver outline was a bit hard in regard to its application because everything must line up perfect and vinyl will tend change shape a bit when it is applied. When i was finished putting it on with the help of my brother, I got a razor and did some minor clean up on parts of the edges that where wider than the uniform width. Its not perfect, but to the human eye its pretty dang close. Best part is if you mess up simply take it off and start over.
I never got what the fascination with these were, especially since they were never installed like that on race cars
They were on the 1963 Corvette Grand Sport race cars.

They are to pay homage to the 1963 Grand Sport Les Mons race cars. There were three and the hash marks, I believe, were a way to tell the difference between the cars.

Actually they were never on the original Grand Sports. When chassis 003 was restored years ago the owner put them on then. The identifier stripes that cars had at Nassau were on the nose. Car #50 was white , car #80 was red and car # 65 was black. I remember them being called rookie stripes back in the mid 70's . Same idea as Nascar when they had yellow bumpers for the new guys !! --- Ken

I painted graphite pearl ghost stripes over torch Red base. Hard to see. They are "ghost" stripes. If I can get them to show up in a picture I'll post it.
