Well after wanting a C3 Stingray since I was a young kid I finally got one! Ok so maybe it's only been 10 years of longing, but I can't tell you how many times I've *almost* got one only for it to slip through my fingers.
I also happen to like the fastback look better than the earlier years (except 68 & 69).
Previous owner was restoring it but didn't finish. It's got a rebuilt engine with a few HP tweaks such as headers, intake, cam. And a new suspension.
Cosmetically it needs a new interior and paint, and the brakes don't work very well. Otherwise it runs great!
Congrats....owned a L48 red 78 ...oh in about 1980 for 6 months......never an issue car ran perfect, traded it for a 79 4spd L82 black car I couldn't do without at the time....LoL
ya want a see about brakes that don't work well ASAP ....LOL ...
Thanks guys!!
I'm making good progress- I've ripped out most of the interior trim. It's in good shape; I just want to dye it from red to black with yellow. (I'm going to have it painted Millennium Yellow)
Haven't looked into the brakes yet. I have been hearing a short in a wire that I believe runs to the horn and then also one in the center console shifter area. Both of these shorts are on the CTSY CLK fuse...I just cant find the *exact* source. But, my searching is what prompted the interior removal as I tracked it down lol.
jdbuddy- I really like your '79! I am getting an 80's rear bumper for mine too and would like to squeeze in the front spoiler...and an l88 hood...Ok the last 2 probably won't happen for a while. But the rear bumper is on the way!
But I LOVE this car. I've wanted one for soooo long. And this one is awesome.
