Default Bumper on 1976 cracked

The front urethane bumper on my 1976 vette cracked over the winter. Is there a method to repair?
If not, can a replacement be purchased? Does the entire bumper structure need replaced or just the urethane?

I've seen urethane repair products. I cannot say whether they are any good.

Yes. The Corvette vendors carry urethane, fiberglass, and Tru-flex.

Usually only the urethane.

Can you live with what you have? Whether you attempt repairs or replacement, you will also need to match paint.

Yes. The plastic just deteriorates over time. I believe most of the rubber bumper covers have been replaced by now.

Hello C3C5Z06, I have just bought a flex urethane bumper repair kit from Corvette Central, but have not used it yet. It is called Au-ve-co-flex 1003 and is a flexible epoxy repair compound. It will repair urethane bumpers, header panels, filler panels, flexible synthetics, wood, metal, rubber, fiberglass, plumbing, plastic, glass and styrofoam

repairs will last a good while, but unrepaired areas will go south too, eventually and the whole deal will collapse ...
it's the sticking your finger in the damn deal, fix one area and another gives away. lol
I repaired mine for a long time, but eventually They will fall off ...literally in your garage . rear finally just dropped to the floor behind the car , front blew off driving down the road

I think the tru flex is a good compromise . Been satisfied with mine .

Can't comment on the installation, as I paid a professional body shop with corvette experts to install mine and match paint. If it was a bugger bear to install , I never heard about it . All I know is the true flex looks nice and seems to retain the paint nicely.

Its only a matter of time before it gets worse, so consider anything you do to it to be only temporary.

Here's what my rear looked like when I bought the car, I could break it off in chunks. It has a Tru Flex on it now.
