Default Wiper Noise

I just finished getting my wipers back in service and installed a new washer pump. The wiper motor motor is making a clunking noise while it's running. Is this normal?

Thanks, Bob

The blades are not hitting the windshield frame. The washer pump seems to work properly. I believe the noise is coming from the washer pump.

Correction. The washer pump starts normally when you push the button but it will not cut off by itself. You have to return the lever to off. The noise is definitely coming from the pump and I think relates to the 4 lobes on the pump.

Problem solved. The drive pin on the motor was not properly registered to the white nylon rotor in the pump.
