Wow .....those convertible doors are not easy to locate either these days.
I think the general public has zero idea how corvettes can rust out , even being fiberglass. Old Corvettes just need to stay dry all the time if possible. Especially convertibles.

What gauge metal did you use? Mine isn't as rust but certainly needs a similar repair.
Anything that was tied to the door structure or that was bonded to fiberglass I used 16 gauge. For patches in the skin I used 22 gauge. I think the GM sheet metal is 18 or 20 gauge; I would've preferred to use that--certainly would have made the welding easier--but it's harder to get, and I had a bunch of the other stuff already.
