i was perusing my harbor freight mailer and i spotted an inspection camera for about $70. there are many posts from prospective buyers asking the best way to check for rust in the cowl area. i thought that this would be an excellent tool to examine the underside of the dash, in addition to other areas, especially on the drivers side where the steering column blocks most of your vision.
They're really a cool thing. In addition to all of the car stuff, look at what you can do around the house with one. Need to run a new TV cable? Drill a hole and slip the camera in there to see where it needs to run.
Just for grins, here's a picture taken with one. This camera goes for about $40k so the resolution is a wee bit better than the one you're looking at. But it will also record full video and audio, add text to both, and has a 42" probe that bends with a joystick on the monitor. Add that to the ability to measure an area or a line and swap tips to look around a corner.
