I am (soon) wanting to replace my dash lights with LED's so they will (1) last longer, and (2) shine brighter. Currently none of my gauges light up. I'm not sure if it is the fuse, bulbs (surely not all of them), or a ground wire or two.
Does anyone know the sizes of LED's that will fit (and if I need anything else to do this swap)? My blinker indicator, hi-beam indicator, and e-brake indicators all work, but no other interior lights.
Also, do I have to pull the dash (speedo panel) to change the bulbs? If so that's fine because I am changing my tach completely.
I bought these on flea-bay, but they haven't arrived yet to tell you if they are the correct ones. I went with recommendations from others on here as to the type.

These look like the same bulbs I used. Be sure to get the SMD bulbs - much brighter! Keep in mind that they don't dim so what you see is what you get. Also, if you replace bulbs in the turn signal circuits you will probably have to add a resistor of some sort to compensate for the lower draw of the LED's.

I plan on keeping the blinkers since they are working, and resistors get hot.. Thanks for the input!
You might have a problem with those bulbs being too long on the front side and hitting the gauge inside the hole before the holder seats. I have all the interior bulbs on my 76 replaced with LED's and for the dash and center gauge panel went with (4) SMD style that are mounted flat. There is no issue with using LED's for the turn signal dash indicators. You should use the same color bulb as the lenses color. Red bulb for a red lense.
I was wondering about the length..I never saw the flat ones until lately.
I think I will just order them now and have both on hand should I need them.
Thanks Swiftrider
Does anyone have a link to the flat ones? I can't find them under BA9S.
Go to superbrightleds.com click on auto bulbs. punch in your information for your car. It will give you all the bulbs and numbers for your car. A little expensive but well worth it. A lot easy on these old eyes. I put them in the corvette & the Camaro, love them. Also very nice people to deal with.

I did go there, they want 9.95 each....I got 10 of them for 4.60 including shipping. Doesn't make sense to pay 100.00 for something they are getting for 5.00.
But thanks for reminding me about the site. I need to replace my PAR20's in house and they can tell me which ones to get.
