Default 1981 Drivers seat removal

Since summer seems to have passed us by for the next few days, Ive put together a list of jobs I want to complete on the car.
One of them is to get the drivers seat hooked up and get it working as it should, its electric.
I did notice, the cable to connect it up is just hanging out of the center console so first I want to remove the seat, clean it up a little and check the motors.

May be a dumb question, but is there an easy way to remove the drivers seat?

Not sure on a 81 but my 74 has four bolts. Two on each runner. Put the seat all the way up, unscrew bolts. Slide it all the way back and do the same. Comes out in about 5-10 minutes.

The problem being as the seat is adjusted electrically, I cant adjust it as its not connected.
Just got home and checked my AIM and it looks like I simply undo the 4 nuts from under the car. Does that sound about right?

On my 82, there are 4 nuts on the bottom underneath the car. Remove them and the seat comes right out. No need to move it at all. The studs are fixed to the seat tracks and poke down through the floor.

the driver seat is one of the easiest things to remove on an '81. the non power ones only weight a few pounds so it's nice and easy on your back when you lift it out also

Thanks for that. Will give it a go tomorrow. Will finally get to see if the seat works or not! lol. Are the seat motors sealed units or are they serviceable and what range of movement do they provide?
TIA!

the studs and nuts are on the bottom, under the car. the seat is a 6 way, back and forth, up and down and leans back and forward.

At last an easy job on the old girl. 5 minutes with a wrench and the seat was out. Cleaned up the electrical connections and tested it....It works!

Nice to have a fully adjustable seat! Thanks for all the replies.
