Default cleaning products

Just curious about what kind of products I can use to shine up the 77. I only take her out on sunny days and it seems like a waste of time to wash and shammy so often. But am nervous to test out products myself. Prefer to buy at local store in Ontario rather than order online....... I would appreciate any advice........

I like to use Mothers and Meguiars car care products for cleaning the leather, waxing the car and everything else they carry to clean a car up. I also use a product called RaggTop on all my Vinyl and Plastic interior parts. This product can only be bought online and I get it from MossMotors.com for my Miata Soft Top. While this is mostly designed for Vinyl Soft Tops it also protects everything Vinyl and Plastic from UV Rays. Personal opinion these are 3 of the best products on the market.

The Carnauba Wax from these 2 companies goes on with a thin coat and comes off easy with a cotton and microfiber cloth. first use the cotton cloth for the bulk of the wax removal then polish with a microfiber cloth I like to wax my cars in the spring and fall to keep the finish clean and shiny. They also both have a 3 step waxing system for those really dirty cars that have sun and fading damage to clean up the paint.

When washing my cars I quit using chamois cloth to dry them and have gone to microfiber because it drys them better and using 2 cloths gets rid of any water spots.

Tuff Stuff is also great for cleaning carpets. If they sell them in Canada I suggest these products over stuff like Turtle and Armorall and everything else.

I recently went to a Corvette show and they had a small seminar about cleaning/detailing your car. The speaker uses no soaps, just a bucket of water (on the body). He did have some stuff he used to shine up engine compartments, etc...but on the body (and his convertible top), it was just plain ol' H2O.

My preference is the Zaino line of products. There is a store in Guelph where it can be purchased.

Thanks for the info......... I recognise the mothers and meguiars lines from Canadian tire. What do you guys think of clay bar on the vette. I just spent about 3 hours doing that to my white Nissan and I was very happy with the results. It was the first time I had used the clay bar. It was a bit of work, but great results. It removed all the iron deposits white cars are known to get and left the finish super smooth with a great shine as well. Also the guy I bought my vette from told me about the just water for washing..... good to know the pros feel the same.

Clay bar did wonders for my car. I use Zaino also, love it! I NEVER use water at all. My car is covered in a garage and never really get dirt on it.

Don't think I recognise the Zaino...... Is that the spray you used with the clay bar?

Zaino has a whole line of cleaning products.
There is also a car care product section on this forum that is very helpful!
