So I have found a extremely low mile '78 vette pace car. I don't want the decals and will remove them if this goes through.
Has anybody removed them, and if so did you have to sand down to primer and respray to get the impression out.
This is what I ***ume I will have to do.

You are correct but why pay for a pace car when you don't want one that looks like a pace car. Plenty of 78'S that you can buy & not have to spend a lot of money painting it & not paying a pace car premium?
Couple of reasons. This particular car like my C4 has never been parked outside, always garaged kept. So needless to say everything is in the best shape possible.
Also to say I am in a rural part of the country would be a understatement. Corvettes of any year are not plentiful.
