Anybody have any luck and/suggestions on finding a well matched silver paint for touching-up the chrome outline around the instrument cluster, shifter plates?
Seem to fade fairly quickly, not worth purchasing a new one.

Not here. Chrome is a plating, not a paint. The paints advertised as chrome, aren't. All you get is a bright silver.
You didn't bother to include a year, but I'm guessing that your referring to the "chrome" trim, around the edges of the plastic console and gauge cluster, of 77-82 dashes? There is something you can try, that I've had some success with.
Hobby shops sell sheets of silver foil, called "Bare Metal Foil". It was originally used by model plane builders, to replicate aluminum fuselages, but model car builders use it also, to duplicate chrome trim.
You lay the Bare Metal Foil, on the surface that you want to transfer it too, rub it down, and trim the excess with a hobby knife. It actually works pretty good, and looks like chrome, or chrome-ish anyway.
I would suggest putting some clear over the whole shebang, as that lead foil is very delicate. You can get adhesive for aluminium foil from hobby shops that you brush on. Aluminium would be a bit sturdier than lead. I build a lot of models!
