Default 1979 door lock actuators

I know i've seen this somewhere before here but can't find it. My actuators are bad (yes i tested them), what is the procedure on removal and installation. Looks like just two rivets. Also has anyone bought these lately and where. I see such a price difference online. Corvette shops want $50.00 a piece and on ebay i can get two for $35.00. Thanks in advance!

drill out the rivets .put in new part ,replace with new rivets .nuts and bolts will work but can be hard to hold the nuts inside the door.if you can get a good deal on the actuators get them.

Its not a bad job and straight forward as Terry describes but does require some patience. I used 1/4 20s instead of rivets and they worked fine. I picked mine up from ebay as NOS but that was several years ago...I think I lucked out. Here's link to an article published in Corvette Enthusiast that describes the process and some other areas of attention to attend to while you have that door panel off.

Not a hard job at all, but both of mine already had the rivets drilled out, and were fastened by nuts and bolts. No problems with them staying in place though.

Rock Island auto has 'em too, made in china, but they are cheap. Rivets are a pain in the ***. Though they won't have clearance issues with the power windows like bolts can. I know cause I tried bolts first and they hit the window mechanism, then a bought a cheapo rivet gun.
