Steel cities gray...... you guys do know it has a green tint to it right ? After reading several posts from people at Carlisle last week who observed the SSG LT-1 that had saddle interior and just can't stand the combination let me tell you. My 72 is SSG with saddle and I think it looks much better then black gut. You know green tint with saddle , get it , it goes together. So to the guy who purchased the SSG with Saddle enjoy it because it's very rare but really under appreciated except by me. I love mine wouldn't trade it for black gut. Sorry but after thinking about this for the last week I had to weigh in. Just a corvette enthusiast love them all. Have a good holiday guys.
I am sure it is beautiful and see no reason for people to dog color combos, they are all C-3 and all special to the person who owns them. It is perfectly understandable for people to have diff tastes but no need to put others down for there choices.
You just keep rockin SSG and sadle because most people dream while you drive by in it!!!'

Steel Cities Gray, is one of my absolute favorite colors, ever put on a Corvette. I like it with either the black or saddle interiors. I have also seen a Steel Cities car, with the red interior. Though I do like the 71-72 bright red interior, it didn't do much for me when paired with Steel Cities. A slightly darker red, I think, may have worked better with Steel Cities.
For a similar combination, there use to be a Laguna Gray 70 convertible around here, that had the light saddle interior and a beige top. It was one of the most striking Corvettes, that I have ever seen.
Our SCG coupe will have a black interior.... because that`s the way it was built. I like it that way. But, I think the saddle looks good also, and I don`t see any reason for anyone to bash that combo, or any other for that matter.
Personally, I do not prefer a yellow car with a green interior, or silver with red, but I wouldn`t go talking trash about them either.
As mentioned above.... only the owner has to like it. Everybody else can pound sand!
Anybody who ever said something negative about one of my cars got this response....
"Aren`t you glad YOU don`t have to drive it?" (with an occasional "dumbass" thrown in, depending on the idiot with the big mouth!)
I'm SCG with black standard/deluxe interior as well. I guess it's the most common. I think SCG with a 1970 green interior would be a great combo.
I looked at that LT-1 at Carlisle for a while. I thought it was a nice combo.
But I'm biased...
