Default Where can I find...

Hey guys,

As you have seen in a couple threads, I had an accident with a Van a week or so ago.
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-g...-carlisle.html

The adjuster came out and said he is wanting to replace the whole body panels on the front and the back. Does anyone know where I can find these? Does any company make new fiberglass body parts for the 1980?
Any help would much appreciated.

I will look in the C3 parts section, but wanted get some more options if possible.

Also, what model years would work for my 1980?

Thanks.

All the major vendors carry these panels.

I'm sorry to hear about your mishap.

As nice as your car is, I would want press molded fiberglass. Press molded is the process that the OEM panels were made from. These will have a some finish, on the back side. There are two makers of press molded parts, Corvette Image in Oregon, and Lee Bumb Composites (formerly Sermershiem's) in Indiana. Unfortunately, the current lead time for glass is about 3-4 weeks from Image and 6-8 weeks from Lee Bumb.

If you need it sooner, you can get hand laid fiberglass panels from a number of sources. Personally, I think American Custom Industries (ACI) makes the best hand laid glass, and they're a Forum supporting vendor.

As far as what panels fit, the front fender sides are the same for 80-82, while the rear quarters are all the same from 74 through 82. PM me if you need more info about the panels, or what all you may need, and where to get it.

I sent a PM. I briefly looked over image before work and it doesn't appear they make parts for my model year.

Looks like you could use a right front fender. The damage to the right rear does not look too bad to me.

Do you have any? Also, is it a good idea to do the sections or should I get a whole piece? I don't want to deal with stress cracks later.
