Default Need advise on 1979 corvette

I have tons of question but ill start here, so i bought a 1979 corvette with stripped interior and no engine. Now i got most of the engine set up and would like to start seeing what kind of parts ill need for the interior. I found a wrecked 1978 silver anniversary edition for cheap which i plan to use as a donor car so my question is will the 78 parts fit a 79 corvette? I know the seats are different and i really dont like the 78 seats what so ever but my budget is about 1500 for the interior so this donor car would be the cheapest route to go and buy different seats later on. The thing with the car is i dont have the pulleys, alt, brackets or any of that so they would fit onto my corvette no problem which is a plus. I have a vortech supercharger for a sbc i may put on it so if i go this route the pulleys and all that wont work for it. What do you guys think? Worth supercharging? Worth getting the other car?

A '78 interior will fit into a '79 without a problem. They're basically the same interior except for the seats unless the '78 is a Pace Car. The only difference might be the storage compartments behind the seats. If yours is a late '79 it would have had two bins, one large one and one for the battery. The '78 and early '79's have three bins. I don't know how interchangeable the bins are from one configuration to the other, or what determines "early" vs. "late," but I'm sure someone else will.

When you say the interior is stripped, do you mean absolutely everything? If it's just carpet, door panels and console pieces, you might want to price out new replacements. Since you're not using the seats, it may or may not be more economical to buy new interior pieces instead of a whole donor car, depending on how many interior pieces (and under-hood brackets) you're missing.

most everything will work with a little bit of modification

but--if the car is really stripped I might keep looking.

Well, the interior wil fit, so if it's in good condition and you're OK with the color, it's just a numbers game. Weigh the value of all the parts in total you are going to get out of the donor against what they would cost you otherwise. Factor in any disposal costs of what's left of the '78 when you're done picking it apart.

First I'd post an ad in the for sale/wanted section.
You should state what color interior your looking for.
You may want to add where your from for more local help.

Good luck.
