Default 1980 corvette 454 conversion

Hello everyone I'm happy to have finally joined the forum! I have always had a fond appreciation for the corvette c 3 and I have finally bought one! I found her on ebay. Well to say the least she was in deplorable Condition. I did a vin search and found out she didn't even have a 350 she had a miserable old 305! What a disappointment. Well here I am ans I have already started the restoration. There is oil everywhere everything leaks all the bushings are shot the interior is terrible. I have had the rear differential sent out to vtech corvette and had performance gears put in I think if I remember correctly they are 3:54 gears. I have purchased the complete rear end rebuild parts from vettebrakes, the trailing arms have been sent out for rebuilding with poly bushings to be installed. The only good thing is that there is no rust thank god I think because it came from California and because there was also so much funky black oil everywhere!. Well now I'm at a crossroads I'm thinking about what type of drive train to install? I really want to go big and put a 454 big block mated up to a 700r4 transmission. I found a 454 complete withh all the pulleys on eut 550 hp! Turnkey tooI have read the motor mounts can stay the same I'm getting really excited about all of this. I know I may have to get another hood because of clearance issues. I have never ever swapped an engine but I'm motivated and think I cam do it if I just go slow and take my time. I plan on buying the drive train soon so that I can have it all ready to get installed ny next summer of 2014i still have the front end to install and clean up such as the new big block springs and the upper and lower control arm rebuilds and all the degreasing and painting of the chasis and all related parts so I still have a lot of work in front of me but I reall need to just be concrete about what drive train I'm actually going with. I think I can do the big block I just want to know what everyone thinks. Keep in mind I have found an engine that comes complete with the pulleys and alternator and water pump with the pulleys that is turn key complete! And any advice Ican get would be greatly appreciated thank you!
