Leaking Gas - Evaporator??
Hello group.....Have a 78 L48, when temp is hot outside, pressure in gas tank seems to build and I get gas dripping underneath from just behind the drivers side tire, near the side air vent. Is this the evaporator canister leaking ?? This happens regardless of whether the car was driven or not, and, if the gas cap is left loose it doesnt occur at all. Thanks for any input.

could be. I have a vapor canister there under my washer fluid tank.
make sure it has 2 lines going to it. one to the hard line back to the tank and one to vac. Not sure it should see enough to drip though. I think its just a vapor can, I suppose it could though, might be worth checking. I know if it doesnt have vac it will stink up a garage.

Its always got between a 1/4 and 1/2 tank. Its always when its hot out, temps greater than 70 Deg. Less than 70 it doesnt leak. I dont think I can relate the gas level in the tank to the leaking. I'm not a mechanic but what relieves the pressure in the tank, just the gas cap ??
