just bought a 74. It pulls to the right a little. Is alignment complicated and how much does it cost. My 1st Vette by the way.

It's not complicated if they have a modern machine. I just had my 75 done last week. They had a very fancy Hunter machine and I watched the computer screen to make sure it was in the spec I had brought with me. $49.95 for four wheel and it sure drives better.

It's not complicated if they have a modern machine and a technician that is familiar with the process. You may want to bring in the spec sheet that you desire to have done. Most machines can print you a copy of the results. If you plan on getting the four wheel, bring extra shims for the trailing arms if the rear looks to be out very bad. $69.95 for four wheel on my 74.

It's all very easy and cheap IF:
  • they have the machine
  • they have the specs
  • they have the shims
  • they have a technician that knows his stuff
  • they don't find that the suspension is rusted to cr*p
  • they don't find other stuff that 'needs' changing
  • they charge a flat fee and not 'per hour'

otherwise, bend over and be ready to shed some tears. The chances that all seven conditions will be met is slim.

They will have the front shims but not the rear. Mike's #5 is important for the trailing arms (toe adjustment). Nothing may want to loosen.

My 74 was pulling just a little to the right too....about 2 months ago.

Rebuilt the rear suspension , bearings etc...new trailing arms , front bearings too. Stainless rear shims .

Costs depends on the lack of prior upkeep. And if you do it yourself.

Tracks , straight as an arrow handles sweet. Worth every penny to me.

Nothing but money and time ....all it takes
