DUST?? Front spoiler not installed? Non running?

I thought that auction was a joke!! (or a masterpiece)
I mean they were selling junk cars for 27k.

The auction company did a great job in getting the story out to the media months before the auction.
I'm sure the auctioneers commission check will be quite nice.

The buyers bought a story here more than anything. As most car guys know there will be several thousand dollars spent on seals and rubber parts not to mention rodent damage to get these cars in like new condition.

80k has got to be a record for a 78 pace car. Could be the lowest mile pace car known with 4 miles. I'm willing to bet there are several under 1000 mile pace cars still around in pristine condition for a 1/3 of the price.

I agree totally.
A few "good" cars and the early trucks were popular.
But calling it a "COLLECTION" was a joke!
Countless 4 door sedans, a Vega, pinto, 81 Citation.
A lot of damaged stuff. Seemed like most were "non running".
And all the stupid trinkets people were paying hundreds of dollars for.

Why pay 80K for that car that doesn't even WORK, when you can have THIS car for $18.5K, maybe even LESS????

Most people are happy when the house next door that's just like yours sells for way more than you thought, makes yours appreciate some... We should be happy that a bubble window car can bring such a strong number.

Most of us "locals" stayed far away from this circus. The local Omaha paper's article on the event is posted below. The reporter is a friend of mine, but I've not spoken to him about it yet. You've got to scroll down to the bit about the yardsticks...

Are you kidding? It's got plastic on the seats and cardboard on the floor! That's what makes it worth the extra coin. LOL
