Question on 77 dash & console
Hey everyone, new to the forum. Posted this yesterday but didn't get any replies, should have posted as a question?...Just bought a 77 to fix up. Putting in all new interior, question is, is it possible to swap a 76 console & dash setup into a 77?
Will wiring harness in 77 connect to 76 ac/heat control? Is there a blank for the wiper switch cut out. Appears to be close to a grand using new parts. Really like the pre 77 setup better, just my personal preference. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. Reading the threads in this forum has been a great help in working on this project.

When I got my car it had a interior from about four different years. It took me a couple of years to sort it all out and correct it with original parts that I picked up from various sources.
I personally would not try to make a 77 a 76 even if the parts are interchangeable it certainly will not add any value to the car. If you like a 76 more then I would search one out and go that route.
Just my thoughts.

Not without doing more work than you want to do. The 77s got the new center cluster and new console layout. These parts are available as reproductions if you need them. The older 68-76 consoles have brackets and other hardware not on the 77s. HVAC controls and plumbing are different.

and the 77's got printed circuit boards behind the gauges. now you can change the faces of the gauges, I want to do this as well to get the KPH off my speedo and UNLEADED FUEL ONLY off the fuel gauge.
