Default 1975 air leak ?

The car is puttering more at low speed than at high speed (but still puttering). Doesn't stall, but wants to. This happened all of a sudden- one day good, the next day this. It's as though I accidentally disturbed something while I was doing something else under the hood.
Could the symptoms I described be because of an air leak? Thanks

I'm betting you mean vacuum leak and, yes, you may have bumped something under the hood.

You win the bet- I do mean vacuum leak. What's driving me nuts about this is everything looks good.

Since it's a '75, how about a plugged catalytic converter, if it still is so equipped?

Funny you say that, because I'm in the process of 86-ing the cat anyway. I guess I'll find out by default. Thanks.

If anyone is interested ,,,

There was a hair line crack on the porcelain on #8 plug causing the spark to go to ground. I couldn't readily see the crack - thanks to my son's young eyes for the discovery.

Took a couple of weeks to figure it out, but that problem is yesterday.

Thanks to all who offered input
