Default stuck window

I am new to Corvette forum, so hello to all. I have a 72 and my passenger window is stuck in the down position. I have confirmed the switch is working. I have confirmed continuity between the switch socket and the window motor female plug. I held the switch in the up and down positions and applied power to measure voltage at the motor female plug, there is no voltage! Does that make sense? Any words of wisdom to share?

Default relay

Does anyone know how to manually check the power window relay? I have power to the driver side window but none to the passenger side. The switch is good.

Yes.. I know... but if you look at the schematic posted above it shows you how the relay works. The relay has battery power going into it, when you turn on the key the electromagnet pulls the lever down inside the relay to switch the power on to the pink wire.... The switch then diverts the power to either the up or down side of the motor.

But.. I just re-read your post.. you say you have power to the driver side but not to the passenger side. Run a continuity test between the relay connector and the passenger side window... If you have power to the driver side the relay is working....

My guess and a common issue is the pink wire may be broken in the conduit or close proximity. (in the door or right behind the A pillar) If I were going to test this, I have a piercing rod (its a small diameter spring steel wire that has a point on it almost needle size). I use this to make a tiny hole in the harness and then hook my continuity tester to it. Then jump over to the relay connector and see what you have. Do this at the door jamb before the wire goes into the conduit. Then do it after and I'll bet you find your problem.

If you want to get the window up quick.. or make sure the motor isn't the problem look at the plug.. the tan wire is the up wire. Pull the connector off the motor and run a 12 v power wire to it.... the motor should go up. If it fails you don't have a relay problem.

The window motor test seems to be a fan favorite before tearing into the console.

I don't have a relay here with me to look at it.. but tomorrow I"m sure I can post you a pick of how to test it with which terminal.
