Default Shift **** (bar) thread size
Does anyone know the correct thread size for the shift **** (bar) on a 1976 corvette (4 speed)? I want to buy a replacement shift **** but I need the thread size and have no idea how to tell what it is. Thanks in advance for any help.

What do you mean by (bar)? The stock **** is ball shaped. Do you have a stock shifter?

The chrome shaft with threads on the end that you screw the ball shifter **** onto. All original equiptment. After digging a little deeper, I believe the threads are 9/16 - 18.
