Friday Night Lights II
Back in the day growing up on Long Island we used to hear on our radios Sunday Sunday Sunday at National Speedway see the famous Little Red Wagon or see Tommy Ivo or Sox & Martin, etc. The guys I hung out with where all gear heads and there were allot of vettes. Three of us decided to try out the new National Speedway 1/4 mile track. After all it was said to be a state of the art track. Large pits, tree lights, and racing in 4 lanes at once. So one Friday night three of us went to the track.Me with my 65 Fuelie, John with his 64 327/300 and Fred with his altered 62 327/???. First a little background on Fred. You see back then running a straight front axle was in. Fred decided one weekend to cut out his entire front suspension and put in a used straight axle out of a Ford Econoline Van. Remember them? Cutting torches, saws and hammers got the job done. No need for an alignment shop here, the old eye ball was good enough. To be Cont.
