Default brake seizing up

have a brake problem with a 76 I just started driving. had it out for a spin and the right front brake locked up, smoke and heat. got the car home and jacked it up after it cooled the wheel would spin. Decided to do the brakes as I really just got into the car. bought kits from napa replaced all the seals cleaned everything reinstalled calipers, bled and went for a ride. car stopped well but pulled to the right on heavy braking but on normal braking it was ok. jacked it up and rebled the left front thinking might be some air in the left went for another ride and the left seized up now and I had to open the bleeder to relieve the caliper and get the car home. seems like the fluid is not returning to the master but not sure what the problem is at this point thanks for any help with this.

check or replace the rubber hoses that feed the calipers, they go shut inside to hold the calipers on. Did you bleed the brakes to get all the air out and run new fluid thru them??? It could be the perportioning valve also.

Yes, got good clean fluid out of the bleeders when I was bleeding but the hoses look a little suspect now that you mention it. I will order the hoses and replace them also. The proportioning valve is the block on the frame below the master cylinder? should think about a master at this stage of the game.
Thanks Brian

if the distribution block ( proportioning valve) was bad then both fronts would be locked up?

I agree.. the problem is in the hoses, the one has collapsed and does not allow fluid return.

Sounds like hoses. I have the same problem intermittently. On the bright side, if you get the wheel positioned just right, you can crack just barely manage to crack the bleeder through the slot in the wheel with a combination wrench without having to jack it up. Saves a lot of time if it happens again before you get the hoses changed.
